“Scratch an adult, and you’ll find a scared child underneath.” Who said this? I did. Ok, it’s not a very famous quote. But, I do say it, over and over. And people shake their heads yes, acknowledging that they know what I mean.
“Under stress, we regress.” The man who trained me many years ago said this. And I say it over and over again to people all the time. Given some stress, we drop back to a younger way of behaving, feeling and thinking. You might call it the “knee jerk reaction.”
So, this is the problem with many of your relationships. We see it in the boss who over-reactes. It’s in the over-wrought parent who abuses a child in the name of discipline. And it is certainly in the relationship spats we have with our lovers. We’re all scared children reacting in knee jerk ways as soon as any stress builds up.
Unless you’re more aware than most, this pattern is not immediately obvious. It can be a mystery as to why you blew up over nothing, or why your partner seems so unreasonable when you’re trying to be so logical. At some level, and it’s usually unconscious, we’d scared. We’re afraid of experiencing some level of discomfort, and our primal training moves us to react in inappropriate ways.
Add to this that our brain has spent years and years associating negative expectations to all kinds of events and it is amazing that we can have such normal relationships most of the time.
And what about those people that “never” react? They are always so pleasing and never would say anything unsettling to anyone else. I guarantee that they are doing the same process on the inside. They cringe, they run away, they feel pain. Their over-compliant ways are actually a form of knee-jerkiness that defines a life-time.
Compliant niceness and super-negotiability are, more often than not, a way to handle their own deep down fear that they will cause someone to have such a knee jerk reaction towards them.
The Solution:
How I wish I could give you a single, smart, simple answer for this problem! Not a chance! You’ll be learning to live in more productive ways for the rest of your life. In fact, working on this one personality reality is what your relationships are particularly suited for.
Here’s the solution as simply as I can put it.
First, be aware that “Under stress, we always regress.” And good stress is still stress. Ever wonder how two people at a wonderful wedding celebration can suddenly have a huge argument? It’s because the wedding is stressful. It’s good stress, but it’s still stress. Just acknowledging that this is how life works helps us to name it and bounce back faster.
Secondly, realize that you can not stop regressions from occurring. With practice you’ll identify it faster and recover quicker, but our reactions will always be with us lurking beneath the surface. You’ll just become better and better at handling it.
Thirdly, realize what maturity really is. It is NOT stopping it, but getting out of it faster and faster each time. What bothered me several days last year, may only bother me several hours this year, and next year it may only be a three second blip. It is still there but I become less and less reactive to it.
This is the basis of my therapy work with couples. I help them get used to the things that each of them react to, to recognize what stresses each of them, and to grow in maturity so that they don’t react so strongly in the future.
I encourage you to take this short outline to heart. If I could get this little lesson deep within you, you’d never have to read another of my articles.
You will ALWAYS react, but with time and awareness you can lower the power of this reactivity and create peace and serenity for you and your partner.

Woodworking And Tools Go Hand In Hand!
July 21st, 2009 by julia97 · No Comments · Uncategorized
There has never been a better time to get started in the woodworking hobby. Information is everywhere with woodworking how to books and magazines at every bookstore. Add the Internet into all of this and you have a lot of choices to learn from.
One thing that trips up people just starting in the woodworking hobby is woodworking and tools. Beginners never know what they need. Some people go overboard and buy everything in site while others make do with what they have around the house.
No matter what your first project will be there are some general woodworking tools you cannot do without. You don’t need the latest and greatest tools when you are starting out. It is not practical to go out and buy two thousand dollars worth of power tools to build a birdhouse. Here are a few tools you will need for almost any project you can dream up.
A good workbench
While a workbench cannot be classified as a tool it is hard to get much done without one. It does not matter whether you build it yourself or buy it ready to go the needs are the same. Your workbench needs to be heavy and stable so you can pound away on your project if you choose to. Some benches come with goodies such as a vise or tool tray. These extras are nice but you can do without them.
A saw or two
No matter what type of woodworking you are doing you will have to cut wood to the correct length. Don’t skimp when you make this purchase. A high quality handsaw will do the trick when you are getting started. There are many different saws out there. Look for a good blade and a comfortable handle. Start out with a backsaw for fine work and a rip saw for general cutting.
Drill
The ability to drill holes in your woodworking is essential. This handy tool will do double duty as a sander or electric screwdriver if needed. The cordless drill is truly a fantastic invention. You can take it wherever you go. I do not know how to get along without this device.
Drill bits
It is hard to drill holes without a bit to go with your drill. Get the best you can afford. The better ones work better and will last longer.
Sander
Sanding is a job most people do not like to do. An electric sander makes this job much more tolerable. There are many variations on this tool but a good finish sander will make your projects shine.
Measuring device
You cannot build much without some way to measure your wood. This is the most important tool you can own, you can saw all day long but if the pieces are not the right size it matters little. Get a high quality ruler and your projects will thank you many times over.
Safety Devices
Woodworking and tools can be dangerous. Always use the proper caution and wear safety glasses. The most important safety device you have is common sense.
There are many more general woodworking tools available that you will need as your woodworking journey continues but these should get you started. Add as you go and try not to buy tools that will not help get the project you are working on done.
Impression Well Maid The Importance of Maid and Housekeeping Uniforms
July 21st, 2009 by julia97 · No Comments · Uncategorized
If you’ve ever wandered the halls of a hotel searching for an ice dispenser or snack machine, the most convenient employee to track down is a maid or housekeeper. They swarm the halls with carts of bedding and cleaning supplies, and can usually be spotted in professional-looking maid or housekeeping uniforms, complete with skirts and white tennis shoes.
However, on occasion, a hotel or motel’s employee policy doesn’t require their cleaning staff to dress in a uniform. Instead, they show up to work in street clothes, or whatever they happen to roll out of bed wearing that morning. This lack of business-like apparel not only sends an arbitrary message to the guests, but it also makes it difficult for them to track down an employee when information or accommodations are needed.
Doesn’t sound too professional, does it?
While a hotel decor may be fancy and well put together, if the employees appear unkempt or sloppy, the reputation of the establishment can easily go out the window. But an establishment that requires their staff to wear maid and housekeeping uniforms will project a clean and professional environment.
This is easiest accomplished if the management has pre-selected set of uniforms in tact for housekeeping employees, making sure that they are all identical, so that they can easily be distinguished by guests. It should also be mandatory that uniforms are laundered every night and kept ironed and wrinkle-free. Providing a few maid and housekeeping uniforms employees could lighten their load of constant upkeep.
Any accessories for the uniforms, such as aprons, belts, pins or scarves should be mandatory and worn in a systematic way. Although these extra items may be uncomfortable and cause complaints, if one employee is given leeway, others could follow with petty objections and disharmony.
Along with fixed accessories, socks and shoes should also be unitary. Whether the standards are white socks with white tennis shoes, or black, rubber-soled, non-slick shoes worn with panty hose or knee-highs, all of the employees should be in unison for that crisp team look.
Although some hotels provide career apparel for their housekeeping employees, others who require more basic clothing (like black pants or white shirts) summon prospective workers to purchase their own gear. This may be easier on the budget of the employer, but may create hardship for the low-income person attempting to make a living by starting a new job. In cases like these, perhaps inexpensive clothing articles could be purchased by the employer, deducting small amounts from the employee’s paychecks to reimburse for the uniform.
It is important to keep in mind that although the employee may wish to make a good impression and look professional, he or she may not have the financial means to go out and purchase necessary items.
Hotel and motel employees have a tough job. Sporting professional maid and housekeeping uniforms could not only benefit the demeanor of the hotel or motel, but also provide the employee with a lift of self-esteem or sense of belonging by looking fresh and orderly during their shifts.
Incorporating In Nevada And Relying Upon Privacy To Protect You
July 21st, 2009 by julia97 · No Comments · Uncategorized
When it comes to protecting your hard earned assets you want every advantage possible. When incorporating in Nevada it is often promised that there is a level of privacy for the owners of a corporation or LLC that will help them in case of a lawsuit. Some individuals looking to form a Nevada corporation or LLC are hoping that if they get sued no one will find out who the owner of the corporation or LLC may be. Thus, preventing them from being a the target of frivolous lawsuits. In the context of litigation, the best scenario is presenting properly structured business model and having the court rule in your favor resulting in your assets being protected. That would be ideal!
Now, if it takes longer for someone to get to first base in your situation to figure out who the owners are, wonderful, that just means the plaintiff will have to spend more money! After all, aren’t most lawsuits a simple gain of economics? And if you can make it very expensive for the plaintiff to find your assets the better!
So what is the challenge…
The challenge is the creation of rock solid asset protection plan that does not rely solely on the illusory promise of privacy through the use of Bearer shares (which doesn’t work) and nominees (which works to a certain degree). If the whole plan is designed to prevent the discovery of your assets to fend off a lawsuit and the corporation or LLC lacks substance; there are no employees anywhere; and no business license, the plan is doomed to fail. The only way you would be protected would be to hide under a rock, because you had to be so private!
Again, if you structure a rock solid asset protection plan and have privacy along with it that is the icing on the cake!
The common places most people have to give up their identity as being linked to a corporation are in the following areas:
1. Issuing stock
2. Obtaining a Nevada Business License
3. Opening a Nevada bank account
4. Being an employee or independent contractor to the corporation
5. Entering into other contracts or agreements
6. Loan applications from banks
It is important to realize that you may be private on the surface corporation, such as the state records, but eventually, your name will appear in one of these six (6) areas. You cannot be so private that your name won’t appear in one of these six (6) areas, unless you choose to have no role in your corporation or LLC.
Nevada is pro-business and has a strong history of protecting the corporate veil. Creating a sound business model and understanding all of the strategies available to you will complement your plan of asset protection.
Quality – Cooks Knives – A Cutting Edge Investment
July 21st, 2009 by julia97 · No Comments · Uncategorized
Of all the tools and utensils used in the kitchen today, it is probably the knife that rewards the most careful selection. When you consider it, a knife is an extension of your hand. To fillet, slice and chop requires manual dexterity. If a knife allows you to move and handle your ingredients in a natural and easy way, this will add to your cooking enjoyment and mastery.
There are a wide variety of cooks knives available today. In addition to the quality traditional European brands such as Henckels, Wusthof and Sabatier, there is a fascinating array of Japanese and oriental brands, such as Global, I.O. Shen, Tojiro and Kai. These Japanese brands tend to be made of harder steel and have thinner blades. They hold their edge for longer and are sharper, making them ideal for precision and accuracy. However they do take longer to sharpen and maintain than their European counterparts, which are generally considered to be easier to look after, more sturdy and great for chopping for example.
But how do you choose which is right for you? First and foremost, you should consider the tasks that you perform most regularly and choose accordingly. Here are a couple of things that you may like to bear in mind:
Material: High carbon steel is generally considered the best performer, but can discolor with use, although this is purely cosmetic. High carbon stainless steel is a popular choice, will look great and will take and maintain a sharp edge. Stainless steel is generally less expensive, will retain its good looks but is not hard enough to maintain the best possible edge. Ceramic blades are so hard that they will maintain a sharp edge for months or years with little maintenance. However, they are more expensive to buy and may require diamond-sharpening.
Handles: The next material choice to consider is for the handle. Handles generally fall into three categories; wood, stainless steel or composition. Some chefs prefer the feel of wood although wood is not allowed in many commercial kitchens. Composition handles help ensure a safe grip on the knife when handling wet items, and are generally preferred over more slippery stainless steel. However, both are sanitary and virtually maintenance-free.
Types of knives: There are some tasks in the kitchen which, if performed regularly, warrant having a special knife for the job. However, there are three knives that will probably see the most wear and tear; a chefs knife, a paring knife and a serrated knife.
A good chefs knife will typically have a blade 6″ – 12″ long. It will be used for slicing, dicing, chopping and mincing. I can even be used for boning large cuts of meat if you do not have a cleaver. The side of the blade is great for crushing garlic etc.
A paring knife will have a 3-4″ long blade and will be used for peeling and paring fruit and vegetables and for trimming where a larger blade would be cumbersome.
A serrated blade is used for cutting through bread, bagels, baguettes etc and should have a blade log enough to cut through a large loaf or a sandwich cake.
These three kitchen work-horses will serve you well and, if youre on a tight budget, will serve most purposes.
If chosen wisely, a quality set of cooks knives will increase your cooking enjoyment and be a valuable investment for a long time to come.
Gift Baskets No Comparison To Fruitcakes Anymore
July 20th, 2009 by julia97 · No Comments · Uncategorized
The gift baskets of the past were such a sorry excuse for a present that they were often included in jokes along with the standard fruitcakes. You do remember the old fruitcake jokes don’t you? Of course, I may be dating myself here but anyway you look at it, this is definitely not the reality today. Gift baskets have really come into their own as well respected in the gift giving department. Due to the variety, quality and wide range of prices they have become quite popular as creative and thoughtful ways to express everything from well wishes to sympathy for those you care about.
So, if the image in your mind is that of a chintzy imitation wicker basket filled with semi rotten fruit then you haven’t checked out the many shops available today both off line and online. The vast array of choices is fantastic and you can easily find something for every person and occasion you could possibly think of on your gift giving list. Here are a few ideas to get you started.
Wine has become quite popular around the world so it’s hard to go wrong when sending a wine basket. The nice thing about these is how personal you can actually make them. You can choose the type of wine you know the person truly enjoys or perhaps purchase a bottle from an expensive winery that you know they would love to try but would never spend that kind of money on themselves. This can make a very special treat for someone on either your personal or corporate list. Can you think of a better way to let someone know how much they are truly appreciated?
Don’t forget when making your purchase to include some other delicious goodies, as everyone drinking a glass of their favorite wine needs a nibbler or two to go along with it. This is another place where you will need to put some thought into what this particular person would enjoy. If they are chocolate lovers you can’t go wrong with an assortment of luscious gourmet chocolates and even if this is for a corporate recipient that you don’t know very well, chocolate is still a great choice as most everyone loves chocolate especially the fancy gourmet varieties.
Of course, fancy fruits, cheese and crackers, or even caviar are other great selections to go along with your vintage bottle or any wine for that matter. You could also become quite creative by throwing in a book by their favorite author, a scented candle, aromatherapy or special spa items so they can truly relax and unwind with this unique idea that you have so thoughtful and creatively put together and delivered.
Now if you’re thinking to yourself that these great tips won’t work for the people on your list because they aren’t wine drinkers, well think again because you can just substitute the wine in your hand selected gift basket with an assortment of gourmet coffees or fancy teas or there are even some great non-alcoholic beverage alternatives for you to choose from. Like I said these are fantastic presents due to the variety and creativity that can go into each and every one making them as unique as the person receiving them.
One last tip, there are hundreds of fantastic pre-made gift baskets available today for you to choose from with just such options already put together for you or if you don’t find exactly what you need there are other services that will create whatever you special order and deliver it directly to that special someone on your gift giving list.

ADVICE Using Hand Held Dictionaries
July 20th, 2009 by julia97 · No Comments · Uncategorized
Hand held are dictionaries are very popular these days. There are many different types and many different ways that you can benefit from them. I mean, when have you ever been out and thought “I could use a dictionary” but you don’t have a book with you? We can’t always carry a dictionary in our back pocket? Or, can we?
With a hand held electronic dictionary, you can have a dictionary in your back pocket at all times. Whether you are in medical school and it is a medical dictionary, or if you are in a foreign country and it is a language dictionary, you can use a hand held dictionary to your benefit.
What Are Hand Held Dictionaries?
Hand held electronic dictionaries come in many different types and forms and are great because they are portable. You can have your dictionary with you at any time. Whatever type that you have, you can benefit from having it with you. Whether it is a pocket PC or cell phone technology, you can have instant information at your fingertips.
How They Can Benefit You
You might be able to benefit from a hand held dictionary in the same way that Tom did. Tom was Executive Coordinator for his business and he was often asked to make speeches and give live reports of what was happening in his business. Well, Tom had been public speaking for a long time and he felt pretty confident in front of his colleagues but writing was not his strong point.
He sometimes went through stress while writing his speeches and reports and sometimes spent hours with a dictionary, a thesaurus and a word processing program to get it all right. But once, while at a business conference in Atlanta , he was asked to fill in for someone who fell sick and give a speech in front of the entire convention. While being in front of people did not bother him, the actual speech writing was a bit of a problem.
So while stuck in his hotel room preparing at the last minute, he got a great idea partly out of desperation. He ran out to the store and purchased a hand held dictionary which helped him write his speech in less than 45 minutes. The next morning he gave a fantastic and intelligent speech and shortly after was offered a promotion. Now his hand held electronic dictionary goes everywhere with him. How can a hand held electronic dictionary help you?

Presidential Hardliner Imperato Asks America About Looks and Pocketbooks: Part II
July 20th, 2009 by julia97 · No Comments · Uncategorized
In his previous release Imperato stated, “”People of the United States, don’t be fooled by looks, because they only run skin deep. You need to look inside these presidential candidates and take their temperature. Look at their background. Look at what they’ve achieved, and analyze their ability to change course for the United States, and its people.”
Just 3 years ago, Democratic Candidate, Barack Hussein Obama, was a little known state senator from Illinois who, after losing a contested race for the US House of Representatives, faced a conveniently uncontested race for a seat in the United States Senate.
The Republican Frontrunner for the 2004 Illinois US Senate seat was Jack Ryan, who according to court documents filed in a 2000 divorce, took his wife to “sex clubs and asked her to engage in sexual activity in front of other patrons” (“Ex-Wife of GOP Senate Candidate Alleged Sex Club Forays”, CNN. June 22, 2004.)
In addition, while Barack Hussein Obama was a political unknown in 1995, he wrote an autobiography, Dreams from My Father: A Story of Race and Inheritance.
In the book, Obama acknowledges that he used cocaine as a high school student but rejected heroin. “Pot had helped, and booze; maybe a little blow when you could afford it,” he said.
Although eager to point out his marijuana, alcohol and cocaine habit, Barack Hussein Obama was quick to reject an addiction to crack cocaine.
“I blew a few smoke rings, remembering those years
Not smack, though – Mickey, my potential initiator, had been just a little too eager for me to go through with that.. Said he could do it blindfolded, but he was shaking like a faulty engine when he said it
”
“Junkie. Pothead. That’s where I’d been headed; the final fatal role of the would-be black man.”
The words “Junkie” and “Pothead” are hardly the descriptions of a would-be president.
During Imperato’s previous press release he asked the American people, “Would you put your children’s lives in the hands of these candidates?”
One of the most prominent American families has been the Clintons, who are now led by 2008 Presidential Candidate Hillary Clinton.
Hillary Clinton has a history of ignoring facts. In 2003 autobiography, Living History, Hillary Clinton commented on the Monica Lewinsky scandal.
She stated, “For me, the Lewinsky imbroglio seemed like just another vicious scandal manufactured by political opponents” (“Hillary’s ‘outrage’ at Clinton Lies”, BBC News June 4, 2003.)
Hillary Clinton said that, before Bill Clinton’s bedside confession, she had believed he had merely been foolish in paying any attention to Monica Lewinsky or any of the other allegations.
Apparently she forgot about Jennifer Flowers and her sexual allegations against Bill Clinton.
Hillary Clinton appeared on 60 Minutes with Bill Clinton in 1992 where Bill Clinton stated, “I have acknowledged causing pain in my marriage”, a guilt-free confession to the American public.
Bill Clinton was later exposed by his own voice on an audiotape telling Jennifer Flowers to deny everything.
But neither Jennifer Flowers’ audiotapes nor Bill Clinton’s DNA on Monica Lewinsky’s dress were sufficient to apprise Hillary Clinton.
Then again there was Paula Jones, Katherine Willy, and the litany of other women who had come forward with Bill Clinton’s sexual infidelity.
According to Hillary Clinton, the only mistake that was made was a public relations mistake.
In her account she acknowledges only “public relations mistakes in how we handled the growing controversy.” (“Hillary’s ‘outrage’ at Clinton Lies”, BBC News June 4, 2003.)
There was no mention of lying to the American public, and obstructing our legal system..
Hillary Clinton did acknowledge that Bill Clinton’s lies to the American people although “morally wrong but not a betrayal of the public.” (Associated Press. “Hillary Clinton Book Acknowledges Lewinsky Affair”, June 04, 2003.)
Imperato also previously asked the American people to save their hard earned money for their children and not for the hands of politicians.
Imperato stated, “This country, and its election process, have become about good looks and large pocketbooks. I say ask yourself, who is your president, or who is your next president? I ask the American people to save their money, and to give me their vote.”
In today’s Melbourne Sun, it was reported that Senator Hillary Clinton failed to disclose a family charity she operates with former president Bill Clinton that has enabled the couple to write off more than $US5 million ($6.3 million) in taxable income since 2001.
The matter has been reported to the US Senate Ethics Committee.
Among the institutions receiving grants from the Clinton Family Foundation were Yale University, where both attended law school; groups named for dead heads of state in Israel and Jordan; and a charity connected to the Arkansas businessman who helped Hillary Clinton make $100,000 on a commodities trade that caused controversy a decade ago, Internal Revenue Service reports show.
Imperato concluded his previous release with the following comments, “Forget the looks. Vote for the best and forget the rest. In my opinion, the best is someone that knows fact and solutions, someone that acts quickly and gains respect from the entire global community. America needs someone to prove to the people on a chart, like Ross Perot did, why the American people should vote for their next president. In my opinion, I should be looked at very seriously because I am the one to draw lines in sand, based on facts and solution.”

It Takes As Much Energy To Fail As To Succeed
July 20th, 2009 by julia97 · No Comments · Uncategorized
As humans we have only a limited amount of mental, emotional and physical energy before we need to recharge.
It seems logical, then, to conclude that energy is an essential element in both failure and success.
They both use energy.
And it takes as much energy to fail as to succeed.
Many people don’t quite fathom this simple concept.
After all, it seems that failing is like rolling down a hill while succeeding is like climbing up one.
Failure appears easier because it’s root appears to be inertia, which is expressed as apathy, grief, fear, lust, anger, and pride.
Yet when you really think about it, all these states are extremely debilitating and result in extreme drops in energy.
In addition, these states stimulate very difficult circumstances, and love and support, finances, and health are further drains in energy.
It takes a lot of energy to fail.
Like an old gas-guzzling car, you get very poor mileage, and performance drops with each mile. Energy is consumed rapidly and inefficiently.
Conversely, success is a rise to states of courage, acceptance, and peace.
Since success is never in isolation, it always serves the public good as well. Any act of success is an outflow of contribution. It benefits everyone.
Once you reach a certain level of success, it actually becomes less energy-consuming, and a certain momentum takes over.
In fact, success itself is a highly energy-efficient state, because you feel good, you’re surrounded by cooperative people, and your relationships flourish. Your financial well-being and health improves, too.
It takes energy, however, to become successful-because, like a rocket ship pressed down by the earth’s gravitational field, you need to exert an excess of force to climb to new heights.
Furthering this analogy, once you’re in space, you need to burn less fuel and yet can travel with equal or greater velocity.
Naturally everybody would rather succeed than fail, but success is envisioned as an almost a mythical concept, attained by only a few, and very often restricted only to certain aspects of life and not as a state of being.
How does one succeed in life in general?
The answer is both simple and complex.
It’s simple because you become successful by learning how to be successful. You associate with successful people and learn how they do things. You read books on success. You master the elements of financial literacy, relationship building, and health maintenance. Study and practice-that’s how you do it.
It’s complex because there isn’t really a curriculum laid out for you-and you have to learn how to self-educate yourself about success.
It takes energy to learn to be successful, but once you get the hang of it, you can get on a roll and then things just seem to escalate from then on.
Success incorporates failing-but rather than perceiving failure as a limit and a stopping point, a success-oriented person sees it as a learning tool, responding to it as feedback.
Rather than using failure as a way of dropping to a low mood level and becoming ineffectual, it is used to learn what not to do and how to discontinue what does not work. It takes some experimenting to learn what works and what doesn’t. Learning what doesn’t work is valuable information because it pushes you further to what does work.
The energy it takes to become successful, then, is twofold: the energy it takes to learn new ways of doing things, and the energy it takes to learn to using failure as a stepping stone rather than a sign to just give up.
Since it takes as much energy to succeed as to fail, doesn’t it make sense to start pointing yourself in the right direction?
